Higgins Motor Sports (HMS) jumps into Sprint Car Racing

Aaron Higgins named driver of HMS #51 car

Waverly, Ohio, March 16, 2007 - Aaron Higgins, driver of the # 51 JEI sprint car for Higgins Motor Sports, moves into the 410 sprint car division from the open wheeled modified ranks. He expects to continue with the same success he found in driving the open wheeled modified series. Higgins, the 2006 KC Raceway track champion in his first full year of competition, is entering his eighth year of competitive racing. He captured championships at every racing level and he expects to run at several tracks in Ohio, as well as participate in Ohio Speed Week. “Our first race is scheduled for March 30 at Attica Raceway and I’m really excited about getting behind the wheel. I know the new car will handle differently than my modified, but I’m ready for the new challenge and can’t wait to get on the track.” Higgins said.

The addition of Scott Cool, who brings with him 9 years of experience with dirt track racing and sprint cars, as the team’s crew chief is a great asset. “Adding Scott to the team this year has been fantastic. Scott has been crew chief for the #29 Ray Pullins Machine for several years and has contributed to the success of Championship drivers Dean Jacobs, Brandon Wimmer, and Tod Kahne. Scott is the best in the business and we look forward in working with him this year” said Mitch Higgins, president of HMS.

Fans can expect an exciting year as the HMS team transitions to the highly competitive sprint car division.
